I returned Untold Legends to EB on Saturday and got “wipeout pure” so far it is a pretty good game, i’m not that good at driving games, and this isn’t technically a driving game, but it had good recommendations.

Sunday, September 4th, 2005Is quite possibly the worst game i’ve played, and i’ve played x2: the threat.
The game itself would probably be ok (i have not even got into the story yet) if it wasn’t for the load times.
I just can not get into a game with load times in excess of 30 seconds, just as I start to get into the game, i’m snapped back to reality while waiting on the level to load.
So far the story appears pretty basic … I have not unveiled any real twists yet, but I was laughing quite hard at the dialogue “you must go to our hive, I mean the enemy hive and retrieve our queen’s .. I mean the queen’s something”
It isn’t quite that bad, but that is paraphrased from the dialogue.
Lumines is AWESOME, It brings back memories of tetris, but to comapre the two is like comparing apples with chocolate … sure apples are nice, but lumines will make you obese with inactivity, you will sit still for days trying to get the next puzzle, or get one more skin.
Addictive is an understatement.

Friday, August 26th, 2005I went and bought Lumines and Untold Legends today, well bought Lumines, pre-ordered Untold Legends.
I read a review on Untold Legends, i cracked up when i read “The thing about Untold Legends, is that about 2 hours into the game, you figure out why it’s an Untold Legend … it’s crap, and not worth telling.”
But the guys at EB convinced me (it wasn’t hard, since I wanted an RPG and it’s the only one …)
And I bought Lumines because I think the guys at PA know their games and if Tycho can recommend it, it’s gotta be … well playable.
So now I have the Lumines box with the game in its caddy …. and the unit is still a week away.
Ugh, and don’t get me started on the Memory Stick DUO … *cough crap cough*
Anyway, i’ve been working and … well playing long this week, so now back to work (little more work to do on a Quickbooks Problem for a client, Quicken Quickbooks is evil under terminal services.)

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005I pre-ordered a PSP a while back now, and every day waiting is torture.
I don’t actually have any games for it, nor have I pre-ordered any, but just the technology of the device is haunting me.
And is it just me or is the sony “register your psp” site pretty crap.
The news pages were BLANK for me, i’d expect better of sony, even if there is no content, at least a “Release Date” or something more useful than bloated flash.
EDIT: By Blank, I mean it had no information, it was just a shell, not <html><head></head></html>
I digress.
Anyway, I’m still tossing up a pre-order on Lumines or Wipeout Pure, i don’t like tetris games (well not $80 tetris games), and i’m not that partial to driving games.
But still they are options.
what I would buy without hesitating would be ANY final fantasy game for the psp, since the only things i’ve bought are the PSP and FFVII:AC on UMD.
I sure hope the PSP has video out, that screen is going to suck for a true FFVII:AC Experience.
I might have to buy the DVD as well.
