Vista windows seem to be much larger than normal windows, this is because they are bloated with pretty borders and useless information.
I’ve decided if I post a “Vista Like” I need a dislike to go along with it, and vica-versa

I like the new Vista Mixer, now you can mute programs individually, finally it’s going to be easier to regulate the volume between WoW and VLC/Media Player Classic (if that runs on Vista)

I picked up my vista ultimate DVD today, OEM with some hardware.
It looks like it’s only 32bit though, so I won’t install that yet
UPDATE: or not for a while yet, thanks philoking (This seems to be the standard, Vista runs WoW like Crap)

See that, that was a play on words.
Anyway. Another reason I don’t think Microsoft has really put much thought into the actual operating system of vista, as per IntelliAdmin ’s blog, The file copy system is STILL fubar, it still has no “retry” button. How is it that DOS 5 has a “retry, abort, or fail” and windows can just manage a “ummm, ok ?”.
Vista looks pretty, is pretty, is confusing as all heck, and will probably cause migraines to techs worldwide before it’s second day of release, but hey, at least I should get a new workstation at work to run it on

I know that this is the opinion of alot of geeks, I remember reading an article earlier about this.Since Vista will have activation in ALL versions (either Volume Activation or Individual Activation) why aren’t they dropping the price of Vista ?
Aren’t we putting up with being accused of piracy everytime we install so that piracy is reduced (or apparently wiped out), so where is our cheaper operating system ?
I know it sounds simplistic, but thinking about it, Vista is going to be VERY expensive, and we’re back to the “You are a pirate” (Do what you want because a pirate is free :P, Had to say it).
This reminds me of MPAA/RIAA arguments, “Profits on DVD’s and Movies are dropping”, and they can’t realise that the movies coming out now are CRAP.
I used to goto the movies almost once a week, sometimes a bit more often, rewatching classics and seeing new features. Now I can’t be bothered leaving the house to see the latest “man/woman in search of love meets man/woman and courtship progresses as per formula #22″ or the crap action movies coming out.
Now i’m only looking forward to 2 or 3 movies, and they’re pretty far away. Halo (the movie), The Prestige (CAD put me onto this) and Pirates of the Carribean 3.
My rants really get sidetracked.

As part of my geek-power and as a general cutting edge kinda of guy, I finally got my hands on the (now not so cutting edge) Vista RC1.
Summary: I’m not impressed.
For detail, read on.
