Taskbar Notifier

Friday, August 12th, 2005

EDIT: Taskbar Notifier like the outlook or msn messenger “slide up” windows.

I spent a good 20 minutes thinking of the words to search for almost EXACTLY this in google.

It’s a class for use in C# that displays a taskbar notification.

In the morning i’ll read up on the licensing / allowed use, I might use it for my little utility i’m making for work to notify us when new tickets need to be answered.

It’s more reliable that either a refreshing screen, or user activated checking.

I might make a pocket pc version later to work with wifi and destinator.

BTW, i’ve come to the conclusion, that GPS units are NOT for “a trip to the shops” they’re more like a “i’m going somewhere i’ve never been and cbf’d looking up directions”

I don’t know how many times i’ve ended up going the wrong way because of a misinterpreted “turn right” or “turn left”

Old Joke

Friday, August 12th, 2005

Just reading my referers, sometimes I get that bored.

And i saw the linked joke, i remember this one from wy back, but it’s still good to read it again.

Interesting thing ?

All the referals point to a link that doesn’t exist, every single request i checked had the same referer and it looks like it stepped through the site.

So that would assume that the page that used to exist had links to every link on my front page. (and was running windows 98)

I was hoping it was wget :(

Phonetic Alphabet

Friday, August 12th, 2005

Jeez, that brings back memories of calls from sunshine coast computer services.

I can’t remember the name of the owner, but we all used to enjoy it when he rang, and he ALWAYS used the phonetic alphabet.

Nothing makes a call center person happier than a customer that makes a day a little less crap.

Of course a call from him also meant more work, as you would need to do 10 or so activations.

*shrug*

Good times.

Midair Cat Antics

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

Ok, Who doesn’t like cats.

Other than me ?

But this makes me almost thing they’re cute, and not devious feline eating machines bent on returning the world to a time when they were treated as gods.
….
Hey Look, Cats caught in midair, or flying, you decide.

QUT Suicide ?

We’ll probably read about it tomorrow.

The rest of this article is basically directionless ranting and raving.

Destinator 3

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005

Mood: Waiting for Updates to Finish so I can get back to Working.

I just received my Destinator software for my iPaq rx3715 this afternoon.

So far I love the software, I even spent about 45 minutes arguing with my parents over a trip we are taking to a cousins wedding.

Destinator showed me (and by extension, them) that the cost of driving is less than flying.

World Conquest To Come.

That being said, their activation system is miserable.
